Lap Joint Flanges
Lap Joint Flanges are used with a separate stub end and allow the flange to rotate for bolt-hole alignment in suitable piping systems.
Technical Parameters
- NPS/NB and pressure class
- Stub-end compatibility
- Bore and flange dimensions
- Facing and lap geometry
- Bolt circle/PCD and bolt holes
- Material and grade

Primary Flange Standard
For standard steel flanges in NPS 1/2 through NPS 24, ASME B16.5-2025 is the current ASME edition. It covers pressure-temperature ratings, materials, dimensions, tolerances, marking, testing and designation of openings. It includes Class 150, 300, 400, 600, 900 and 1500 flanges through NPS 24, plus Class 2500 through NPS 12. citeturn0search0turn0search5
For large-diameter steel flanges NPS 26 through NPS 60, ASME B16.47-2025 is the current edition and covers Classes 75, 150, 300, 400, 600 and 900. citeturn0search14turn0search3
Materials & Grades
BCUBE can evaluate Mild Steel, Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel and Stainless Steel flange requirements in grades applicable to the selected material and flange specification. Material selection must match the pressure, temperature, corrosion and project requirements.
Dimensions & Rating
Flange pages will organize technical information around nominal size, pressure class/PN rating, facing, bore, outside diameter, thickness, bolt circle, bolt-hole count/diameter and other product-specific dimensions. Numerical tables will be added after specification-by-specification verification.
Current, Previous & Project-Specified Editions
BCUBE's standards database will distinguish current editions from previous/historical editions. ASME B16.5, for example, has historical editions including 2020, 2017, 2013, 2009 and earlier versions. citeturn0search18 A project specifying an older edition should be evaluated against that requirement rather than silently substituted with the latest edition.
Manufacturing & Sourcing
BCUBE supports both manufacturing and sourcing. Requirements can be evaluated from flange type, size, class/PN, facing, bore, material, grade, standard, drawing and quantity.
Testing, Certification & Inspection
Applicable dimensional, visual, material and pressure-related testing will be described according to the governing specification. EN 10204:3.1 material certificates and Indian or international third-party inspection can be supported where required.
Applications
Oil & gas, EPC projects, chemical and petrochemical plants, power plants, water treatment, industrial equipment, fabrication, infrastructure and general industrial piping, subject to the selected flange specification and service requirements.
