Product & Dimensional Standards
ISO 4032:2023 specifies hexagon regular nuts (style 1) in steel and stainless steel, with metric coarse-pitch threads M5 to M39 and product grades A and B. ISO identifies ISO 4032:2012 as withdrawn and ISO 4032:2023 as the published edition.
Mechanical Property Standards
ISO 898-2:2022 specifies mechanical and physical properties for carbon and alloy steel nuts with specified property classes. It covers regular, high and thin nut styles and specified metric thread ranges.
ASTM Carbon & Alloy Steel Nuts
ASTM A563/A563M covers carbon and alloy steel nuts for general structural and mechanical uses. ASTM's current standards listing shows A563/A563M-26 as active.

ASTM A194/A194M — High-Pressure / High-Temperature Nuts
Where the nut is specified for high-pressure or high-temperature service, ASTM A194/A194M is a key material specification covering carbon steel, alloy steel and martensitic/austenitic stainless steel nuts. ASTM currently lists A194/A194M-26 as active. Exact grade/class, size and service requirements must be matched to the governing specification; ASTM states that grade substitutions require purchaser permission.
